## Orientation: the actual schedule

Queen's **Fall Orientation** is a combination of University Orientation and faculty and residence programming, and it's free for all incoming students. The full schedules are posted on the [Schedule Hub](https://www.queensu.ca/orientation/schedules) in late August, and you'll find your specific schedule in your Faculty Handbook, on Schedule Hub, or with your Residence Don or Off-Campus Leader.

Orientation begins in June with online programming, and the in-person Fall Orientation runs in the days before classes start. It's where you get your bearings, your **Queen's ID** (your student card), and your first taste of campus life.

Classes for Fall 2026 begin **Tuesday, September 8**.

## The tuition payment deadline: September 1

Your Fall 2026 tuition is due **September 1, 2026**. To avoid late fees, your payment must reach the Office of the University Registrar before this date.

If you're receiving government financial aid (including OSAP), you get an **automatic grace period between September 1 and October 1** for your funding to arrive. No action is required to receive this grace period, and no late fees are assessed during it.

## Add, drop, and refund deadlines

Your first weeks are also your window to fix your schedule without academic or financial consequences. The Fall 2026 dates:

- **Pay your tuition before September 1.** This is the one date you can't miss, unless you're on OSAP and covered by the grace period.
- **Get your Queen's ID.** You'll need it for the library, buildings, and campus services.
- **Check your fees for things you can opt out of.** Your health and dental plan and other ancillary fees have opt-out windows early in the term.
- **Find your classes before day one.** Orientation is the time to walk your route, so you're not late and stressed on the first morning.
